The Problem - Sportsman 800 has low power
This Polaris rider reported that his Sportsman 800 has low power, it would start up and run however, it just seems to have low power. It would struggle going up hills or pulling a trailer. Every now and then the power would randomly kick-in for a while then it would diminish back to low power again. A Sportsman 800 that starts up but has low power could be cause by several different factors, some more serious than others. If the engine sounds like it is revving high and getting up to RPM then it could be and issue with the clutches or belt. If the Engine isn’t making power then it could be many tings like Plugs, Cams, ignition, Fuel etc.. When this rider asked for help, the community weighed in with possible causes that were quickly ruled out and a simple solution was eventually found. After fixing this simple problem the Sportsman had new vigor and was no longer experiencing low power.
